Summary:

Counterpart International is seeking a Finance Manager for a program in Honduras. He or she will work under the direction of the Chief of Party for the Citizen Participation for Responsive Governance (CPRG) Program. The Finance Manager will be responsible for developing and managing the financial, administrative, operational and taxes policies for the CPRG Program and its two current Projects.  The Financial Manager must thrive in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision, and quickly comprehend and act on changing priorities when necessary.  This position requires a service oriented professional, with superior interpersonal communication and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will have, 5 years’ experience working with international development programs preferably with knowledge of the USAID practices.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Through close collaboration with the Chief of Party, CPRG and CAP Directors the Financial Manager will be responsible for:

 

  • Facilitating and promoting the efficient, timely and transparent use of financial resources allocated to the program, ensuring compliance with the rules and policies of USAID and Counterpart, and to promote best practices to comply with financial and accounting.

·         Maintaining updated and reconciled financial figures of the Program.

·         Leading and coordinating the team of financial management in order to promote and facilitate all logistical support and funds to achieve program objectives.

·         Working closely with the Grants team to ensure proper grant-making, control and reporting in compliance with Program Policies.

·         Responsible for reviewing and ensuring that all contracts for employees comply with the terms agreed with the supporting documentation and the necessary approvals in each process.

·         Responsible to ensure and guarantee the efficient use of program assets, promotes physical spaces to facilitate the completion of the work of all team members.

·         Responsible for implementing the requirements and controls that establish by HQ and COP.

·         Head of internal audit processes of the institution which ensure the efficient and transparent use of the funds.

 

 

 

 

·         Responsible for ensuring coordination with USAID in the use of all the tax benefits that the Government of Honduras assigned to these projects.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Prof essional in the Business, Finance or Accounting area.
  • Masters’ Degree (or equivalent) in a related field;5+ years’ experience in Finance area
  • Previous experience working with USAID-funded programs and International Organizations;

•     Solid computer skills: specially accounting programs, QB will be consider  a plus

  • Superior writing and oral communications skills
  • Problem-solving, teamwork and leadership skills;
  • Excellent Inter personal skills
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Spanish required.
  • Project management preferred
