● The Council for Global Health Scholars (CGHS): A US-based organization with the
mission to "provide interdisciplinary global health education to empower the next
generation of health professionals to improve health outcomes around the world."
CGHS achieves this through:

○ Education: Offering courses and workshops on relevant topics.
○ Advocacy: Promoting policies that support global health equity.
● Global Medical Brigades: A global health and sustainable development organization that
has been working in Honduras for over 20 years. They have made significant strides in
improving access to healthcare and economic opportunities in underserved communities.
Global Brigades empowers volunteers and local communities to work side-by-side to
implement sustainable health and economic development programs. They have a strong
presence in Honduras, with programs focused on:
○ Medical Brigades: Providing access to basic healthcare services.
○ Dental Brigades: Offering dental care and education.
○ Public Health Brigades: Implementing community-led public health initiatives.
○ Water Brigades: Constructing clean water systems.
○ Business Brigades: Fostering economic development through microfinance and
entrepreneurship programs.
This position is backed by the largest student group movement for health, Global Medical
Brigades, and a leading US Ed-Tech company, MedSchoolCoach.
Job Description:
As the Global Health Program Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the
operations and growth of both Global Brigades and CGHS initiatives. You will be the primary
point of contact for student interns, other program associates in Honduras, and the managing
partner of CGHS.
Responsibilities:
● Intern Management:
○ Oversee a team of student interns, providing guidance and support.
○ Track intern progress and ensure they meet their goals.
○ Recruit new interns through various channels.
● Operations:
○ Manage and organize program data using advanced Excel skills.
○ Maintain and update mailing lists.
○ Schedule activities and meetings.
○ Communicate effectively with program associates in Honduras.
● Marketing and Communications:
○ Utilize graphic design skills (Canva, Photoshop) to create engaging marketing materials.
○ Edit and proofread documents to ensure accuracy and clarity.
○ Assist in the development of promotional campaigns.
● Project Management:
○ Oversee the implementation of various projects.
○ Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
○ Identify and mitigate potential risks.
● Sales Support:
○ Assist in the promotion of CGHS programs to potential students.
○ Track sales leads and follow up with inquiries.
Qualifications:
● Native Honduran with perfect English proficiency (written and spoken).
● Strong project management skills.
● Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
● Experience with graphic design tools (Canva, Photoshop).
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Passion for global health and development.
● Copy editing skills are a plus.
